Genesis Motion Design is an award-winning animation and motion graphics studio based in Singapore, trusted by global brands including McDonald’s, Riot Games, Razer, Meta, and Disney. Founded in 2015 by Creative Director Benjamin Ang — a Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honouree — the studio has earned international recognition at the Webby Awards, Communicator Awards, and W3 Awards for work spanning 2D character animation, broadcast commercials, gaming trailers, and large-scale event production. This page consolidates our industry awards, client portfolio, leadership credentials, and the reasons leading brands consistently choose Genesis for animation production in Singapore and across APAC.
Genesis Motion Design has been recognised across the most competitive categories in global creative awards — from the Webby Awards, widely regarded as the Internet’s highest honour, to the Communicator Awards, the largest international awards programme for creative communications.
## Webby Awards — 23rd Annual (2019)
The Webby Awards receive over 13,000 entries annually from more than 70 countries, with winners selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Genesis earned recognition in two categories:
Razer “Mamba and Firefly Hyperflux” — A high-energy product-launch film blending cinematic cinematography with motion graphics to showcase Razer’s gaming peripherals in an immersive, brand-driven narrative. The film combined macro product cinematography with animated UI overlays and dynamic typography to communicate speed, precision, and Razer’s signature Chroma RGB identity.
Genesis Manifesto — A studio-original short film that distills the Genesis creative philosophy into a 60-second motion-graphics piece. The film weaves 2D character animation, kinetic typography, and live-action integration to express the studio’s core belief: that great motion design starts with story, not software.
## Communicator Awards — 26th Annual (2020)
The Communicator Awards honour creative excellence across marketing, communications, and media, receiving over 6,000 entries from agencies, studios, and brands worldwide each year.
Scoot “Active Silvers” — A motion-graphics campaign for Scoot, the Singapore-based low-cost airline, promoting active lifestyle travel. The spot combined bold typography, high-contrast colour palettes, and energetic motion design to position Scoot as the airline of choice for adventure-seeking travellers across Southeast Asia.
Dansaek “Under The Spell” — A brand film for Dansaek, a Korean beauty brand, using fluid 2D animation and minimalist design language to express the brand’s philosophy of simplicity and purity. The film translated Dansaek’s product texture and application rituals into abstract visual storytelling.
## Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia (2020)
Benjamin Ang, Founder and Creative Director of Genesis Motion Design, was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia in the Media, Marketing & Advertising category — a recognition of leadership and creative impact across the region. The list identifies 300 young entrepreneurs, creatives, and leaders across 10 industry categories who are reshaping Asia and the world.
## W3 Awards — Best of Show
The W3 Awards celebrate digital excellence across websites, video, marketing, and social content. Genesis earned Best of Show honours for outstanding creative work in motion design and branded content — a distinction reserved for the top-scoring entries across all categories, judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.
An animation studio’s reputation is ultimately measured by the brands that choose it. Genesis Motion Design has delivered campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, global technology brands, and leading agencies across APAC and the United States, providing Singapore-based animation production at international broadcast standards.
## Featured Clients
McDonald’s — Genesis created the anime-styled Samurai & Ninja Burger campaign for McDonald’s Singapore, producing a 30-second broadcast commercial, outdoor billboards, in-store kiosk screens, and social media assets. The campaign, created in partnership with Leo Burnett and Prodigious, merged Japanese anime aesthetics with food cinematography, with every menu item receiving individual lighting passes and custom subsurface scattering for hyper-realistic, appetising renders. The campaign reached audiences across television, out-of-home, and digital platforms.
Riot Games — As a production partner for VALORANT Champions Tour Pacific and VALORANT Masters, Genesis delivered cinematic game trailers, esports broadcast packages, and character-driven motion graphics for one of the world’s most valuable gaming franchises. The work required deep fluency in gaming visual culture, fast-turnaround production cycles aligned to tournament schedules, and asset delivery at broadcast resolution for live-event integration.
Razer — Genesis produced product-launch films, brand campaigns, and motion-graphics content for Razer’s global marketing initiatives, including the Webby-recognised “Mamba and Firefly Hyperflux” product film. The work spanned gaming-peripheral cinematography, animated UI storytelling, and Chroma-branded motion design across multiple product lines.
Meta — Genesis delivered motion-graphics and animation content supporting Meta’s regional initiatives across APAC, with a focus on clear, accessible communication design that translates complex platform concepts into engaging visual narratives.
Disney — Genesis created animation and motion design supporting Disney’s brand campaigns in Southeast Asia, working within the exacting brand standards of one of the world’s most iconic entertainment companies.
Euroleague Basketball — For Euroleague’s partnership with bwin, Genesis produced broadcast motion graphics, tournament-branded animation packages, and live-event visual content delivered across European broadcast networks. The work demanded real-time rendering pipelines and format delivery spanning multiple broadcast standards.
Scoot — Multiple campaign productions for Scoot, Singapore’s low-cost airline, including the Communicator Award-winning “Active Silvers” campaign and additional brand and promotional motion-graphics content targeting Southeast Asian travellers.
Singtel — Genesis produced isometric animation and motion graphics for Singtel’s 5G Unboxed launch campaign, delivered through Hogarth Worldwide. The project required complex geometric animation, telecom technical accuracy, and delivery across broadcast, digital, and in-store formats.
Dansaek — Brand film and motion-graphics content for the Korean beauty brand, earning a Communicator Award for “Under The Spell.” The work demonstrated Genesis’s ability to translate minimalist brand philosophies into rich, evocative animation.
## Agency Partnerships
Genesis regularly collaborates with leading creative agencies on global campaigns, including Leo Burnett, Prodigious, Hogarth Worldwide, and TBWA. These partnerships reflect the studio’s ability to integrate into agency production workflows, meet multi-stakeholder review processes, and deliver at the broadcast and digital standards required by multinational brand clients.
A studio is only as strong as its creative direction. Genesis Motion Design is led by Benjamin Ang, a Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honouree with over a decade of experience in motion graphics, animation, and design.
## Benjamin Ang — Founder, Creative & Animation Director
Benjamin founded Genesis Motion Design in 2015 with a vision to bridge creative cultures between Singapore and Los Angeles — combining Southeast Asia’s production agility with the narrative and visual standards of the global advertising industry. Trained across motion graphics, 2D character animation, and live-action direction, Benjamin personally leads creative strategy on every Genesis project, from initial concept through final delivery.
His work has earned multiple Webby Award nominations, Communicator Awards, and W3 Awards Best of Show. His client portfolio spans Fortune 500 companies and SMEs across APAC and the United States, including McDonald’s, Riot Games, Meta, Razer, and Disney.
In 2020, Benjamin was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia in the Media, Marketing & Advertising category, a recognition that places him among the most influential young leaders in the region’s creative industries.
## Studio Philosophy
Genesis operates on a simple principle: great animation starts with story, not software. Every project — whether a 30-second broadcast commercial, a two-minute product film, or a 90-second explainer video — begins with a clear creative strategy built around the client’s business objective. The team then brings that strategy to life through disciplined production, rigorous quality control, and a genuine commitment to making every frame count.
Genesis is a multi-discipline studio. Unlike specialists limited to a single animation style, Genesis delivers across the full spectrum — which is why global brands run multiple campaign formats through a single production partner rather than managing separate vendors. Every discipline listed below is produced in-house by the Genesis core team.
## 2D Animation
Frame-by-frame character animation, anime-styled motion design, cut-out animation, and hybrid 2D/3D composites. Genesis is recognised internationally for anime-styled commercial work, having delivered the McDonald’s Samurai Burger campaign and multiple broadcast spots that blend Japanese visual language with global brand messaging. The 2D team covers the full pipeline: character design, storyboarding, background art, keyframe animation, in-betweening, compositing, and final delivery.
## 3D Animation
Cinematic product visualisation, brand films, character animation, and immersive 3D experiences. From realistic product renders for consumer electronics to stylised 3D environments for brand campaigns, the 3D team handles modelling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering — delivering broadcast-ready 3D at resolutions up to 4K.
## Motion Graphics
Dynamic motion graphics for social media, digital campaigns, corporate presentations, and broadcast. Typography animation, logo reveals, data visualisation, UI animation, and branded content — produced with the same narrative discipline as full character animation, ensuring even short-form motion graphics carry a clear creative intent.
## Explainer Videos
Clear, engaging explainer videos that simplify complex ideas for target audiences. Genesis has produced explainer videos for SaaS startups, fintech platforms, telecommunications providers, and government agencies — each one structured around a core message hierarchy that prioritises viewer comprehension over visual spectacle.
## Gaming & Esports Content
Cinematic game trailers, esports tournament packages, character reels, and gaming brand activations. Genesis’s gaming portfolio includes work for Riot Games (VALORANT Champions Tour Pacific, VALORANT Masters) and Razer — two of the most recognisable brands in gaming and esports. The gaming team understands the culture, the visual language, and the production velocity that gaming campaigns demand.
## Event Production Animation
Large-format animation and motion graphics for live events, conferences, product launches, and brand activations. Genesis has produced LED-wall content, stage-screen animation, and venue-wide motion graphics for events across Singapore, combining technical precision (pixel maps, multi-screen playback, format compliance) with creative visual storytelling.
After a decade of producing animation for some of the world’s most demanding brands, several patterns emerge in why clients choose Genesis — and why they return.
## Narrative-First Approach
Genesis does not start with software. Every project begins with a creative strategy built around the client’s business objective. The team asks: what does the viewer need to understand, feel, and do after watching? Animation style, duration, and platform optimization all flow from that answer. This approach produces work that performs — not just work that looks good.
## Multi-Discipline, Single Studio
Most animation studios specialise in one discipline. Genesis is fluent across 2D character animation, 3D, motion graphics, anime-styled commercials, gaming content, and event production. For brands running multi-format campaigns — a TV spot, social cutdowns, out-of-home display content, and event-screen animation — this means one production partner, one creative vision, and one point of accountability.
## Global Standard, Singapore-Based
Singapore’s position as a regional business hub gives Genesis a unique advantage: global-standard creative production at competitive APAC rates, with cultural fluency across English, Mandarin, and Southeast Asian markets. Clients in the United States and Europe benefit from a production partner in a convenient time zone with a track record of Fortune 500 delivery. Clients in APAC benefit from a studio that understands regional audiences without compromising on international creative standards.
## Brand-Safe Production
Genesis has delivered work within the brand guidelines of some of the world’s most tightly managed visual identities — Disney, McDonald’s, Riot Games, and Meta. The studio’s production pipeline includes structured review gates, explicit brand-compliance checkpoints, and a disciplined revision-round process that protects the client’s brand while keeping the project on schedule.
## Proven Timeline Reliability
Every McDonald’s campaign, Riot Games tournament package, and Singtel product launch was delivered on a hard deadline driven by broadcast schedules, live-event dates, or product-launch windows. Genesis’s production methodology — storyboard lock, styleframe approval, animatic review, first pass, final delivery — is built to de-risk creative production and provide clients with predictable milestones.
